The Tanner Seebaum Foundation aims to increase awareness, advocacy and support research leading to effective treatments for Ependymoma tumors. We know, based on a 2013 report that Ependymoma tumors of the brain and spine effect 280 children a year in the United States. Due to the low incidence of diagnoses research is often overlooked for this cause, which is largely why the Tanner Seebaum Foundation exists. As a foundation, we advocate for this cause and serve as one of the catalysts to bring more awareness and funding to pediatric Ependymoma research that leads to better treatments and eventually a cure for this disease.
The Tanner Seebaum Foundation is connected with several Facebook groups for parents and families of children with Ependymoma tumors of the brain and spine. These private groups provide resources and networking for parents and families faced with the difficult circumstances surrounding the Ependymoma diagnosis and treatment. There are two specific groups reserved only for those who are parents or family members of Ependymoma affected children.
